| Puckett EMS Bike Team
Puckett EMS provides a rapid response bicycle unit that is capable of providing first response emergency medical care. This team is available for any event in which normal emergency services may be delayed due to traffic or crowd congestion.
History
As the population in our zone grows; the number of spectators at local events has continued to grow as well. This growth led to the development of the Emergency Medical Services Bike Team. The concept of this team is to provide rapid Emergency Medical care during events in which the traffic, crowd congestion or obscure locations would make normal modes of emergency care inefficient. In the spring of 2004, a small group of paramedics set out to make this idea of an Emergency Services Bike team a reality. Each member of the Puckett EMS Bike Team is provided with a Cannondale mountain bike and safety helmet. All bike team personnel are chosen through a selective screening process including an obstacle course, written test and interview with supervisors. All certifications must be maintained.
